WPA2 and WPA3 are the most secure and commonly used WiFi encryption standards today. WPA is an older standard that is still widely compatible. WEP is outdated and less secure.

Can I customize how my QR code looks?

Absolutely! You can change the foreground and background colors, choose between square, dot, or rounded patterns, add frames and borders, upload a logo to place in the center, and adjust the size.

What format should I download — PNG or SVG?

PNG is perfect for most uses like printing, sharing on social media, or displaying digitally. SVG is a vector format that scales to any size without losing quality — ideal for large-format printing.

Will the QR code still work if I add a logo?

Yes! When you add a logo, the generator automatically increases the error correction level to 'High', which means the QR code can still be read even with up to 30% of it obscured.

Do I need to update the QR code if I change my WiFi password?

Yes. The QR code encodes the exact password you entered. If you change your WiFi password, you will need to generate and print a new QR code with the updated password.

Can I use this for my business or restaurant?

Of course! WiFi QR codes are perfect for cafes, restaurants, hotels, offices, co-working spaces, Airbnbs, and any venue that offers WiFi to guests.

What is a hidden network option?

Some WiFi networks are configured to not broadcast their network name (SSID). If your network is hidden, enable this option so the QR code includes the flag telling devices to look for the hidden network.

Does scanning a WiFi QR code use mobile data?

No. The QR code is decoded entirely on your phone — no internet connection is needed. Your phone reads the encoded text, parses the WiFi credentials, and connects directly to your local network.

Can I use the same QR code for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands?

If your router broadcasts both bands under the same network name (SSID), then yes — one QR code works for both. If you have separate names for each band, you will need a separate QR code for each.

How do I choose the right encryption type for my WiFi QR code?

Check your router admin settings. Most modern routers use WPA2 or WPA3. Select WPA/WPA2/WPA3 in the generator for these. If your router uses WEP, we recommend upgrading to WPA2 for better security.
